Decrease In Crime Rates

Dear residents of Hackeny Downs, I come with some good news!

Over the past several months, we as a police force and you as a community has made meaningful progress in reducing crime. From August 2025 to January 2026, the overall crime rate has dropped by an impressive 47.6%! A clear sign that the steps we are taking together are having a real impact.

Even more encouraging is the year‑over‑year improvement. In January 2025, the recorded crime rate stood at 119. By January 2026, that number had fallen to 99, reflecting a 17% decrease. This demonstrates not only short-term progress, but a strong, steady trend in the right direction.

These results show what’s possible when we remain committed, work collaboratively, and continue supporting the initiatives that keep our community safe. Let’s keep this momentum going as it shows our collective efforts are making a difference, and together, we can continue to build a safer, stronger community for everyone.
